A quick hello and welcome!

I just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce myself. I’m Helene Harrison and I’m a historian, author, and blogger, primarily focused on the Tudor period, though I am looking to expand my knowledge so prepare for some different posts coming up!

My first book, ‘Elizabethan Rebellions: Conspiracy, Intrigue and Treason’, was published in January 2023. My second book, ‘Tudor Executions: From Nobility to the Block’ followed in July 2024. My third book ‘The Many Faces of Anne Boleyn: Interpreting Image and Perception’ is due out in July 2025, all from Pen and Sword Books. I am currently working on books four and five. Book four is on Henry VIII’s quest for an heir and his ‘Great Matter’. Book five I’m keeping quiet about for now, so you’ll have to look out for that if you’re interested.

I’ve had a few queries recently about whether people can sign up for a newsletter to get notification of my posts and what is going on with me and my writing. Well, this is it! I’ve heard good things from different people about Substack, so as well as uploading posts to my blog, I’ll be posting them here as well so you can get them direct to your inbox. I’m also hoping to do a monthly newsletter, linking to all posts in the last month, and updating on any podcasts, guest blog spots, or writing updates that I have as well.

I’ve been doing some thinking about what I could do to liven up my blog and make things a bit more interesting and engaging, but if you have any ideas, I’d also love to hear them!
